Automated trading platforms or “bots” have become a really popular medium among the crypto community.

Instead of having to monitor the crypto markets and look for opportunities to enter and exit the markets, crypto trading bots do most of the work for us.

Cryptohopp is et 3commas have become the two most popular trading robots on the market, and they both offer excellent tools for trading cryptos. I have written quite a few articles on the subject but never before have I made a direct confrontation.

It is impossible to say which platform is better by being completely objective and neutral. Even if I had made a classification of 5 Best Crypto Trading Bots for me, I have to say that it remains difficult for these two. For what?

Because Cryptohopper and 3commas offer many similar tools and both are paid (there is however a difference that you will see later). They are equivalent in terms of efficiency and this is why making a choice can be very difficult.

Depending on how you choose to define a trading bot, Cryptohopper may or may not fit that definition. In fact, Cryptohopper is a great platform to easily set up a trading bot that offers advanced trading tools, as well as signaling and backtesting tools that professional traders use regularly.

Cryptohopper allows its customers to use a very easy to understand platform that can manage numerous crypto positions on 8 major and very popular exchanges.

Cryptohopper supports 75 tokens so customers will have no problem finding a pair of tokens to trade with the trading bot.

How does Cryptohopper work?

Cryptohopper will allow its customers to use a range of semi-automated trading tools on supported exchanges. Once configured by a user, the Cryptohopper bot will automatically trade when trading with a client's account.

The platform also offers trading signals that can help you decide whether to enter or exit a position. In addition to automated trading, Cryptohopper also has a social trading feature. It is not of the Etoro type, but rather a site to obtain signals from other experienced traders.

Is Cryptohopper a better platform?

If you are looking for a platform to easily create and configure your crypto trading bot, then Cryptohopper is a good choice. As we have seen, it has several tools and functionality that is very practical for beginners or pro traders.

This may be an area where 3commas is a better fit for some traders as it has algos that are essentially automatic once some simple parameters are created.

Smart trading – The smart trading feature allows you to configure trading settings that will be automatically executed by the 3commas cloud platform. These tools are similar to those offered by Cryptohopper and will allow you to stay on top of the market without being tied to a trading terminal. Long and short trading is supported by the platform, as long as it is permitted by the exchange.
Auto trading bot – The automatic trading robot that 3commas is essentially automatic. All you need to do is choose a token pair and enter some basic trading parameters. Once the bot is active, it will work on your behalf to make profits. You can fine-tune the bot you use by choosing a long, short, or composite strategy for the token pairs you want to trade, and the bot will essentially do the rest.

The advanced package – For $37 per month, 3commas gives you everything from the starter package and adds access to simple robots, as well as personal signals provided by Trading View.
The Pro package – 3commas' Pro package will cost you $75 per month and adds complex bots and Bitmex to the offering, along with full portfolio management. There are also offers for customers who sign up for longer periods with 3commas.

What about the security of the two crypto trading bot platforms?

One of the biggest concerns about crypto trading bot platforms is how they protect our funds and cryptos. Yes, security, always security you will tell me.

Although Cryptohopper and 3commas use industry standard security protocols, every time you generate an API key for your account you are taking a risk, no matter how minimal it may be, it is still a risk.

Overall, this will be my conclusion: if you are looking to have a simple automated crypto trading bot (not a trading bot), either one will do the job just fine.

However, as in many cases in life, often it is the price that can make the difference.

So know that Cryptohopper's starter plan is $19 per month and 3Comma's is $22.

?But Cryptohopper's best plan is $99 per month while 3Comma's is $75, so it might make sense to use 3Commas if you need more positions and Cryptohopper if you're just starting out..

We recommend at least trying both free trial periods to see which one suits your needs best.

One advantage I can note would simply be the fact that Cryptohopper offers a one week trial period. For 3commas, the trial period is 3 days. But hey...It's a detail, I grant you that.

For me, 3commas is very nice for people who want to have access to a fully automatic trading platform. Both offer markets where you can buy pre-made robots or trading signals and work with most crypto exchange platforms.

The best thing would perhaps be to form your own opinion by trying both, as long as you have a free trial period. So you can judge for yourself and choose the best crypto trading bot that suits you best 😉
