Secret Network launches a $400 million fund and Tarantino releases an NFT

Tarantino NFT

You know, when a network starts putting money on the table, it's usually a good sign. Be careful, if it is only for the marketing budget, then you should rather be wary and run away. But, when the money wants to be used to develop the network, then we have to be interested in it.

This is the case of Secret Network which provides 400 million dollars for entrepreneurs and developers. More precisely, $225 million will be intended for ecosystem applications and $175 million to accelerate and develop existing projects.

This fundraising was financed by big names in institutional investment such as BlockTower Capital, Arrington Capital and Fenbushi Capital.

Secret Network, the first layer blockchain, then wants to develop its network and expand its infrastructure. The desired goal is to accelerate the use of its SCRT token.

Moreover, Secret Network had already announced at the beginning of the year (2022) its resolution to advance the network through what it called "Shockwave". It is an entire strategy that therefore includes the promotion of SCRT in order to make it an essential crypto ready for Web3.

Web3 is clearly Secret Network's goal. The creation of NFTs on the theme of Pulp Fiction is part of this logic.

What? You did not know it?

The NFTs in question from Quentin Tarantino's cult film (my favorite film, by the way) would be representations of the 7 unpublished handwritten chapters of the screenplay of Tarantino (dating from 1994).

The NFT therefore contains the digitalized manuscript accessible only to the holder of the NFT and it also obtains an audio from Tarantino which gives some details of the manuscript in question.

By the way, in relation to these NFTs, you should know that there was a scandal because the production company Miramax filed a complaint on November 17, 2021 against Quentin Tarantino for copyright infringement.

Basically, Miramax explained that Tarantino did not have the copyright to create the NFTs in question and accused Tarantino of only wanting to make money with them.

As I write this article, the matter is not resolved and even in a few minutes. The auction starts at 100 ETH…

Case to follow as they say…
