On May 29 and 30, 2026, Barcelona will host the second edition of the BCC8333, a conference unlike any other, a « unconference » dedicated to sovereignty, Bitcoin and freedom.
Barcelona, the natural land of cypherpunk rebellion
It is no coincidence that this event is taking place in Barcelona. The city, historically marked by anarchism and a spirit of nonconformity, offers an ideal setting for a conference that loudly proclaims its rejection of surveillance, state control, and traditional finance.
This isn't their first attempt either: BCC8333 is spearheaded by the founders of Barcelona's monthly Bitcoin meetup, which has been active for over ten years. After a decade of bringing the local community together, they're taking things to the next level with an event open to the whole world.
The chosen location is the The Salle Campus Barcelona (C/ Sant Joan de la Salle, 42), an academic setting that contrasts sharply with the hushed atmosphere of corporate conferences. Capacity is intentionally limited to 300 participants, to guarantee an immersive experience and authentic exchanges.
What differentiates BCC8333 from all other Bitcoin conferences
The word unconference is at the heart of the event's DNA. Here, there are no large stages with speakers seeking recognition at all costs. The idea is to create a horizontal space where participants learn from each otherwhether they are complete beginners or seasoned developers.
The organizers have clearly stated their ambition:
"We want to offer a place where people with little or no prior knowledge can come and immerse themselves in a wide range of subjects, from beginner to advanced levels."
Bitcoin, permaculture, digital privacy, nodes, NostrP2P applications, energy resilience, Bitcoin inheritance… The topics covered under the banner cypherpunk form a complete overview of what it means to be sovereign in 2026.
Program: two extremely intense days
The program is structured into thematic blocks with, in parallel, practical workshops in room Bfor those who want to get their hands dirty.
Friday May 29

Why should you go?
La BCC8333 is aimed at all those who feel that the Bitcoin conferences The usual approaches have become too polished, too institutional, too far removed from the movement's original values. This is a direct response to the increasing financialization of the space, a return to the fundamentals: Bitcoin as a tool for emancipation, not as a speculative asset.
With only 300 places available, the event prioritizes the quality of the exchanges rather than the quantity of participants. Access to hands-on workshops, panels, the closing party, and the international cypherpunk network, all in one of Europe's most vibrant cities, represents a rare opportunity.
