BORED APE YATCH NFT

Bored Ape Yatch Club (BAYC): The depressed apes that sell for millions of dollars

July 10, 2021

Did you think the NFT craze was over? Did you think that’s it, the fever of investments costing millions is over? So, you even secretly dreamed that it would break your face because really all this shocked you? That such amounts of money can be spent on digital works of art that everyone can copy and copy?

Ouch, ouch, imagine that goes even further. The world of NFTs is constantly developing and the amounts invested are touching the stars.

We can say that the big moves in artistic NFTs were achieved with cryptopunk and the Hashmasks. They managed to sell NFTs for thousands of euros and their communication and marketing behind it was really very well thought out. I cannot stress this point. It's like for luxury brands or for brands like Supreme, it's all in the branding, guys!

We wrote you an article to find out how to sell your NFTs and very clearly, you need to have a strategy behind it. Your communication will greatly (A LOT) influence the perception of the value of your works.

And, that's how we arrive at the crazy story of Bored Ape Yacht Club. The concept?

Imagine a luxury yacht where hundreds of APE monkeys meet (which represent people who invest in projects on impulse, without thinking and without looking at tokenomics and the foundations). The APEs discuss everything and nothing on this yacht, you can imagine. Well, don't mess around, most of the time (90% of the time) they talk about cryptos and discuss their latest purchases etc.

Well, I'm having fun when I write, but don't forget that I'm talking about a large-scale NFT project.

I still remember the launch – in secret – I was luckily put in the running for the pre-sale. I told you about it in an article well before I became famous (see The 10 tips for selling your NFTs) the story telling had been mastered so devilishly. And since then, the project has recorded sales records. .

Moreover, today, it is ranked by DappRadar in 18th place among NFT collectives on the global market. Honestly, it's not bad, considering how little time the project has been launched.

The project raised more than $64 million and only had 5000 people exchange these works. You immediately understand that prices quickly climbed (there were around 14,000 transactions).

And, now, I know very well what you are saying to yourself. How is it possible that such works could have sold for so much?

No worries, I'm here to explain the underside of the cards.

Why are Ape Bored Yachts so popular? (And so expensive?)

Frankly, I invite you to read the articles where we explain the entire Hashmask and CryptoPunk process. For what? Well, the success of Ape Bored Yatch is very similar to these projects.

There is a limited supply of NFTs and precisely 10 Unique Bored Ape NFTs and not one more. All unique, eh, which can now be purchased on opensea if the budget allows it.

There are hidden elements (this is something that works very well) such as access to a digital graffiti wall called "The Bathroom".

The other very interesting novelty of these works is that the owners can do absolutely everything with their monkeys, as far as intellectual property is concerned. Basically, they can sell t-shirts or books about their monkeys that they own and no one will be able to send them to justice.

Yes, it's amazing, right?

Bored Ape and what makes them so special?

You know, in the end, NFTs remain works of art; so it's also a question of taste. Personally, for example, as much as I loved the Hashmask from an aesthetic point of view, as much as I don't particularly appreciate crypto punk with the pixelated effect that is too simple for my taste.

Well, for the Ape Bored Yatch collectibles, we can say that aesthetically, it reaches more people. The artistic quality is very interesting. We want to frame our monkey and display it in our living room. No? Not you?

For our project to be a hit, that’s not enough. You also have to create a whole story around it, a concept that justifies it.

Thus, it is important to give freedom to the holders. For example, with the Ape Bored Yatch, the team behind it is thinking about creating partnerships. For example, holders will be able to use their NFTs on Sandbox where we can transform the monkeys into real cartoon characters (in 3D).

Admit that they are strong!

Bored Ape and what makes them so special?

Crypto punks trade for tens of ETH, or thousands of dollars. Ordinary people can no longer buy crypto punk in fact. The sales will gradually become even more elitist and exclusively reserved for professionals from the art world.

Some say this is what will happen to Bored Ape Yatch…

Some people who bought Bored Ape Yatch became rich overnight. This is a fact and as often happens with NFTs.

We can simply say that collecting NFT works is like collecting physical works of art, wine, coins, etc. It's good, it's simply become part of our customs. It is the combination of pleasure and finance that makes a work valuable and fundamentally, this remains subjective.

What are you going to say to someone who has Stockholm syndrome in front of a work? Are you going to tell him that it's just a work and that you shouldn't put yourself in such a state? He will laugh in your face and may not take the time to respond that he is feeling emotions that you cannot understand.

Maybe he won't be wrong...

As I told you in the intro, APEs represent monkeys who imitate the investments of others, just so as not to miss the opportunity. We can also, in an ironic image, even that the craze for the Bored Ape is perhaps here again an image of imitating monkeys. Investors are buying Bored Ape NFTs for ever more expensive…Do you see the picture? As if they themselves had finally become Apes...Let's hope they don't become depressed...

Only the future will tell us...

(For those who want to know more about the history of Bored Yatch Ape, I recommend this article very detailed).
