Cryptopolitics: Are Le Gorafi’s NFTs a joke?

cryptopolitics

You may know Le Gorafi, I suppose. But if! You know, it's the parody newspaper, which has made parody its trademark. Moreover, Gorafi takes up letters from the very serious newspaper Le Figaro.

The newspaper itself is very pleasant to read and it is the only newspaper that will make you laugh.

Well, we don't know if the Gorafi also wanted to make fun of NFTs by launching its own Cryptopolitics collection or if it got caught up in the game itself?

At first glance, and being readers of Gorafi, we thought at first that it was a joke, a way of "making fun" or laughing at this phenomenon.

You know, we understand that when you don't know about cryptocurrencies, you might think that NFTs seem like a huge scam by Jpeg amateurs ... We can understand that, yes.

In any case, Le Gorafi released its NFT collection when no one expected it. And that's no joke! (We're used to the press—especially American—promoting NFTs representing the major covers of their magazines. The New York Times started the trend, followed by Fortune ).

Anyway, back to our sheep, NFT, if you will.

What is Le Gorafi’s NFT collection?

With the presidential elections fast approaching, the NFT collection is called "Cryptopolitics." More than just an NFT collection, it's actually a video game. The game hasn't been released yet, and it's apparently scheduled for February.

NFTs then represent potential or proven candidates such as Anne Hidalgo, Mélenchon, Valérie Pécresse or even Eric Zemmour. In fact, we also find local elected officials and other more or less well-known politicians. To top it off, there will be exclusive cards which will represent the big names in French political life, namely Charles DeGaulle, Jules Ferry and even Coluche. In reality, there are 4 types of cards with different rarity levels.

The game was designed by the CiviPower association and uses the rules of card games like Magic: The Gathering, to take the most well-known example. Basically, the characters can fight (Mélenchon versus Marine Le Pen), complete missions, participate in duels, etc. Sounds cool, right?

Journalist Julien Baldacchino concludes on FranceInter that we are arriving at a kind of "Political Metaverse".

In fact, it's pretty close although the word metaverse here may be an extrapolation. Let's say that the game has nevertheless been well designed so that the player experience is complete. The arenas of cryptopolitics, for example, will be TV sets, the National Assembly, etc., in short the usual political battlefields.

Basically, and sincerely, it makes us want it 😉

But, you know us, what we like about NFT games is making money, eh.

So, can you make money on Cryptolotics?

Well yes!

This is where we saw that Le Gorafi was not joking. The Cryptopolitic game plans to release its own token, $CYP, on Ethereum. It is with this token that you can buy characters, for example. $CYP is purchased exclusively with $POWER (the Civicpower token).

What is interesting, and this is a point that we often mention in our blog, is that this actually consists of a new financial resource.

In short, we salute Le Gorafi, and this is the first time we've taken them seriously. We remind you that Dogecoin itself was originally a joke…

To purchase NFTs, you must have an account on the Civicpower platform, also known as "civicID." We were unable to find the exact launch dates. Apparently, the whitelist dates are already closed (closed on January 13th).

In short, even if it's not a joke, it's clear they're not yet familiar with the industry... We mean this in a completely unkind way... The standard NFT sales process isn't being followed, and this can be confusing for NFT investors... But oh well, it's not a big deal. We did try to register, but didn't really manage to participate in the survey, etc. Perhaps they should improve the direct participation process through the Cryptopolitics website?

Otherwise, NFTs can be purchased on platforms like Opensea.
