The 10 Dapps Every Crypto Holder Should Know

Here are the 10 Dapps that might interest you if you own cryptocurrencies or are interested in this fabulous world of blockchain.

I assume you are familiar with Bitcoin, Ethereum and other cryptocurrencies.

And, if you have already invested in cryptocurrencies, congratulations. You are already part of the 6% of the world's population who own bitcoin or other cryptocurrencies.

What many investors don't realize is that blockchain is not just about cryptocurrency.

Programmers create entire applications based on blockchain coding. Software developers call these programs “ Dapps", and these are decentralized applications which do just about everything you can imagine. Yes, yes, almost everything.

Please note that to keep up to date with the best Dapps on the market, I simply consult the site StateOfTheDapps which is a goldmine for discovering Dapps.

They can be searched by sector, popularity or by protocol. I tell you, this site is a real gem!

And, so here are the 10 Dapps that I selected for you. These are the ones that are currently best ranked.

DTube

I'm starting with DTube because I think it's definitely worth the detour. I think you already guessed with the screenshot. This is indeed the Youtube version based on the blockchain.

But here, it's a little more "healthy" for video creators and for those who view. No tracking, no data collection, no censorship and of course, no advertising.

It is the community of viewers who classify the videos, who moderate the comments etc. Creators can also earn crypto on DTube.

Geon

The Geon app allows you to get paid for simply visiting places (shops in general) in the real world. Open the Geon app, find a place to visit on the dynamic map of the Geon app. Go ahead and you immediately collect Geon cryptos!

You can see augmented reality (AR) Geons through your phone: there are over 1,5 million Geons all over the world. And you can also create your own (there are more and more every day)!

But there is still more !

Once you collect your Geon tokens for free, you can exchange them for amazing rewards in the Geon online store:

  • Steam Gift Cards
  • Random Steam Games
  • PayPal gift cards
  • Netflix vouchers

Everipedia

I hope you know Wikipedia, the largest online encyclopedia in the world. Developers were interested in this concept of an online encyclopedia and set out to create the equivalent with a Dapp.

Everipedia is one of the newest dapps to hit the scene. It is a decentralized version of Wikipedia. It is dedicated to providing a new freedom of information that everyone can access. This dapp was made out of EOS protocol, if you're curious.

Also, unlike Wikipedia, Everipedia is for-profit and when you submit an article, you may be compensated in IQ, the Everipedia token.

SharePay

Sharpay is an interesting Dapp because it allows you to share site links while getting rewards.

After all, sharing a link is still fundamentally promoting a site or content. It seems entirely logical to pay the person who shares the page of a site or startup.

Users receive rewards for the act of sharing or for visits from other users via shared links (this depends on site settings). All of this means conversion growth for sites and a reward for users. Yes, a real win-win partnership.

The sharpay button can look like anything, for example, it can be custom designed according to the web design of the site that uses it. The sharpay button can be of any color and shape, it can have any logo of connected social networks.

Steemit

If you are curious about blockchain, you must have certainly seen Steemit. In fact, it's a bit like Medium. Steemit is a social media site that pays you in cryptocurrency for the content you create – and technically, it's a dapp that has dapp add-ons you can use.

Steemit is a great place to go if you want to mine cryptocurrency but don't have the typical technical knowledge or hardware to do so.

Status

It is an increasingly popular Dapp among crypto holders.

Status is a messaging app that also has a secure way to send digital currency (Ethereum, specifically) through the app.

Augur

Augur is one of the coolest apps to use according to some people. It’s true that the concept behind it is pretty good.

This application allows you to bet on anything and everything. So, for example, we can vote on whether this or that football team will win. People vote and like any bet, those who guessed correctly win cryptocurrencies in return.

CryptoKitties

Who hasn't heard of this Dapp? I don't use it but given the overwhelming success of this Dapp, I had to tell you about it.

You know how popular cats are, right? Whether on YouTube, Instagram or any social network, you can't escape the little face of a kitten. CryptoKitties jumped at the opportunity by creating one of the best experimental Ethereum-based apps that lets you raise your own cyberkittens!

Karma

KARMA is a social media that revolves around the concept of kindness. Users are encouraged to do good, share positive and cool content. Users can receive KARMA tokens when their content is liked by the public.

KARMA is a decentralized mobile application built on devices under the EOSIO protocol. At KARMA, you can publish content in the form of photos or videos.

The content published should have the value of goodness/well-being in the form of original, interesting, educational and high social value content.

Every user who contributes to this mobile project will receive a KARMA coin. KARMA rewards can be obtained through like/upvote points provided by community members on the KARMA platform.

Conclusion on Dapps

Here's a small overview of what we can do with Dapps. In fact, I sincerely think that it is Dapps that will popularize cryptocurrencies and blockchain in particular.

It is with Dapps that we see all the possibilities. I will make other more specific selections for future articles.

The goal is of course to show you new opportunities. Likewise, it can inspire you if you are looking for ideas for…Why not launch your own Dapp?

Tell me in the comments if there are any Dapps that you use regularly and that you enjoy? I will post updates 😉
