Obviously, NFTs affect all professional spheres now. NFTs are no longer the pixelated images exchanged by a few geeks but rather the highly sought-after works of experienced collectors.

The times are changing.

And that's good.

In this article, we will shed light on the collection of the 18-year-old American digital artist, Victor Langlois, known as FEWOCiOUS.

“It’s May 2020 and I’m discovering NFTs for the first time in my life. My life has changed.”

His collection This is my life traces his transition journey and has attracted more than twenty collectors from Christie's.

The auction raised more than $2,16 million.

In fact, the collection represented 5 specific lots. Each lot represented Langlois' life between the ages of 14 and 19 when he began his transition and moved to Seattle.

The Fewovious series represents a collection of heterogeneous works such as a physical painting, an artistic video and graphic drawings. All of course sold in the form of NFT.

We specify that despite the fact that we are dealing with NFTs and therefore non-fungible tokens, we must not forget that they can nevertheless represent physical works.

This is therefore the case for the oil painting which will be delivered in a personalized suitcase to the buyer. Moreover, a comical element, the travel suitcase is supposed to recall the genre journey undertaken by the artist Fewocious.

The devil is in the details, isn't it?

An introspective work that retraces the journey of his transition

He started his NFT journey by starting to sell on the NFT marketplace “Nifty Gateway”. There, he managed to sell his digital works for a total of $35,000.

In the space of two months, on March 6 exactly, one of his works flew away (in terms of price). It is his work “The EverLasting Beautiful” which sold for $550.

A figure which may surprise the novice but which has become commonplace in the world of NFTs with the sales of artists like Beeple who often hit the headlines.

What is remarkable (and not new) is that Langlois managed to sell his works in barely a year. The artist is only 18 years old, remember.

It's unexpected to consider how NFTs (like social networks) can help artists blossom and make them "rich" in the space of a few months.

It is often for them the ultimate springboard to develop an international career.

Fellowcious actually received 18 million dollars with the Christie's sale. It’s a dazzling success.

The first work in the collection “Hello, I'm Victor” is titled “An 1, Age 14 – It Hurts to Hide”. It hurts to hide.

On the first day of the auction, the demand was such that it literally crashed the site.

The start of a series of discoveries?

The LGBTQ community welcomed the sale which also shows that in art, the LGBTQ connotation is clearly part of the artistic landscape.

The day before the Langlois auction closed, “The Queenly NFT” presented itself as the first-ever crypto gallery for queer creators. The launch party took place at the former site of Andy Warhol’s factory in New York.

The collection featured more than 90 pieces by renowned LGBTQ artists including trans singer Mila Jam, “RuPaul's Drag Race” artists Manila Luzon and Bob the Drag Queen and many other notable figures in the field.

This was a landmark event for NFTs on the one hand and for LGBTQ people.

When we say that NFTs are changing the world, we would say that it is for the better… No?
