Fortune magazine raised more than $1,3 million with NFTs

You might ask me, "But who hasn't made money with NFTs?" I also want to ask the same question, don't worry.

We have seen recently, with the surge in NFTs, that the largest institutions are getting into it with joy.

Money is flowing freely into NFTs, and the more we advance, the more the astronomical sums seem insignificant to us. We seem to have gotten used to these poor quality images (quality doesn't exist in NFTs? You have 4 hours to respond. Top time) sold for millions of dollars.

It was also the turn of the internationally renowned economic magazine to get involved; Fortune magazine.

With a name like that, it’s hard not to make a fortune with NFTs, indeed.

For their first NFT sale, Fortune sold a set of limited edition NFTs from the cover of their August/September 2021 issue (which was crypto-themed). The cover was created by the artist ppleasr1 already very active on twitter. The sale lasted only a few minutes to reach record prices.

The auction raised 429 ETH or 1,3 million current dollars. NFTs were put up for sale on the marketplace opensea. An actually derisory price if we think of other projects like Ape Bored or the cryptoPunks.

Robet Hacket, the editor-in-chief of Fortune, said that 50% of the profits from the sale would be donated to organizations and the rest would be kept safe.

Fortune is not the first magazine to have sold NFTs of its magazine covers. Magazines like New York Times even started the trend.

One day perhaps we, on Zonebitcoin, will sell our first articles as NFTs for thousands of euros.

Don't worry, this blessed day of the Gods has not yet come...
