February 17st, 2024

Bitcoin has experienced exponential growth in recent years, and a real social and economic ecosystem has been created around it. This popularity has led to the emergence of many initiatives and projects related to Bitcoin, including in video games.

Today, we wanted to shed a little light on a video game project - rather artisanal - which could well appeal to some bitcoiners among you. And, certainly the most nostalgic among you since the Hero of Bitcoin game is inspired by the Mario game on the GameBoy.

In this article, we'll explore this original game in detail, its key features, how to support it, and learn more about its creator.

Hero of Bitcoin: Game description

Hero of Bitcoin is a platform game inspired by classic Mario games, but with a different approach focused on learning about bitcoin. The game's setting takes place in El Salvador, a country that has made Bitcoin legal tender and takes players to iconic locations such as Bitcoin Beach (El Zonte) or even on the San Salvador volcano.

In fact, the game follows the journey of a young man called Hero, a new Bitcoin enthusiast, who travels to El Salvador to help promote Bitcoin adoption. Players will have to help President Bukele and other Bitcoin enthusiasts overcome obstacles such as proponents of shitcoin, the "Bears" (who want to lower the price) and the bankers who oppose Bitcoin. The goal of the game is to help the protagonist Hero to promote the adoption of Bitcoin.

What sets this game apart from others is that it is developed for the Gameboy console and will be available as a physical cartridge. The game will work on multiple consoles, including the original Gameboy, Gameboy Color, Gameboy Advance, Gameboy Advance SP, and even the Super Nintendo with the Super Gameboy addon.

On the original Gameboy and Gameboy Pocket, the game will be in 4 shades of gray, while on other consoles with a color screen it will be displayed in color.
