On February 10, 2025, the Central African Republic launched the $CAR, an official memecoin aimed at promoting innovation and economic development in the country. President Faustin-Archange Touadéra presented this initiative as an experiment intended to unite the population and position the Central African Republic on the world stage in a unique way.

This new initiative comes almost three years after Bitcoin was adopted as legal tender in the country, making the Central African Republic the second country after El Salvador to legalize Bitcoin.

This new memecoin comes as a successor to the initiative sango, allowed all investors to take part in key sectors, including the country's diamond and gold mines, which are still unexploited to this day. The country's overall objective was to open up new opportunities for potential investors and to boost the country's economy.

However, early investors in Sangocoin were later left to suffer from a severe lack of communication about the project, with frequent shutdowns of the official website. Many people felt trapped, resigning themselves to the idea that the project had ended.

CAR memecoin launched

To everyone's surprise, they finally got an answer to their questions following the announcement by President Touadéra himself on social media. The latter announced the launch of a new token called CAR.

Even more, an announcement stating that investors in the Sango project would receive an airdrop in the new cryptocurrency.

1/ First, you need to find your transaction. This is perhaps the most difficult part because the site has not been put back online at the time of writing this article.

However, you can check your email for confirmation of your transaction. You have received a confirmation email if you have invested in the project.

So you can take a screenshot for example. Even more, you can find your transaction because now you have the date and time when you made your transaction.

2/ Secondly, you need to create a Solana address if you don't already have one. You can easily create one on any exchange platform and choose a wallet of your choice. You can choose a Solana receiving address that you already have on the crypto platform that you already use.
