How to buy a token during an ICO? Steps to follow

1. Create your portfolio

To have money in your ETH wallet, you can buy some via Coinbase , then transfer your funds to your ethereum wallet.

Your Ethereum wallet address must be a different Ethereum address than your cryptocurrency exchange address. Do not provide your Ethereum address issued by a platform like Coinbase or Binance!

Please note, however, that some ICOs are not based on the Ethereum protocol. In this case, the project developers provide a special wallet.

2. Register for an ICO

Of course the first step is to register on the ICO website. You must first register. Usually there is a button on the site "Join" or "Token sale". Most ICOs will ask you for the following standard information:

Last Name
First Name
Email
If the token works on the Ethereum protocol, give your address public insurance from your Ethereum wallet.
The amount of ETH (or BTC) you plan to invest
Your identity documents

There are also many ICOs that do not ask for your identity documents. It depends on the projects. For the majority of ICOs, you can buy tokens directly.

3. Buy your tokens/tokens

Now that you are registered on the site. Now, all you have to do is obtain the address of the smart contract to which you need to send your ether.

How to sell your tokens afterwards?

You have received your tokens now that the ICO is over. So what to do now? Well, now you have three options:

You can use the tokens for the project service.
Keep the tokens on your wallet for future valuation of your tokens.
Wait until the tokens are available on an exchange platform to sell them or exchange them for other cryptocurrencies.

For example, there's the Binance platform , which remains the most widely used platform where you can easily find all ICO tokens. In fact, their listing on Binance is what officially validates your tokens, in a way.

Try to be patient because often the longer you wait, the more the crypto becomes valuable. This is what we call investing in an ICO.
