There are several events that deal with cryptocurrencies in general, and events exclusively dedicated to Bitcoin, such as Surfin Bitcoin in Biarritz. There's also a new event now, which we believe, based on its philosophy and program, is particularly interesting: the Bitcoin Economic Forum.
The event is designed to accommodate only around 100 people. It is then a small group event which contrasts with the majority of crypto events which resemble real crypto marketing masses… Many crypto events are, in fact, pretexts to promote certain crypto projects. Most of the time, the entry fee is relatively high and the public is only there to buy tokens, nothing more, nothing less. It's sad but fortunately there are still crypto events that take place far from ambient marketing.
Don't rely on the size, number or likes that an event can get, rely instead on the quality of the interventions that are offered.
It is on this criterion that we base ourselves here to talk to you about Bitcoin Economic Forum.
The Bitcoin Economic Forum: An event for bitcoiners
We must warn you that this is the first edition of the event. We cannot guarantee the quality of the event. However, if you are looking for a weekend, to go to an unusual place and meet several bitcoiners, then perhaps this is the ideal event for you. Bitcoin Economic Forum will be held in eastern Brittany, between Laval and Le Mans.
In a park spanning over 80 hectares of greenery, it's also an opportunity to breathe fresh air and learn about key topics related to Bitcoin. This will be an excellent opportunity to learn more about Bitcoin. Given the event's title, which echoes the World Economic Forum in Davos, then economic issues will certainly be addressed.
The BreizhBitcoin collective , organizers of the event, also specified that no photos or videos will be taken publicly. No showroom, no showcase, no showbusiness, apparently. You can be sure you won't see any companies there, masked and ready to shill their own tokens (normally). Bitcoin Economic Forum promises us a true haven of peace to learn about Bitcoin with the Bitcoin "plebs."
Yes, let's get this straight from the start, and this is the event's slogan: "An event organized by bitcoiners for bitcoiners." While not necessarily a bitcoin maximalist , it goes without saying that the event will be heavily focused on bitcoin. Thus, the event will offer workshops, discussions, and conferences to debate the topic of bitcoin and the Lightning Network.
Event Details:
- The event lasts 2 days and will be held on Friday May 19 and Saturday May 20, 2023.
- The tickets can be purchased in bitcoin (via BTCPay) with an all-inclusive price of 210 euros for a single bed.
- Shuttles are provided (limited places) between Le Mans and the area.
- The meal is included with barbecue and a vegetarian option for non-fans of bitcoin carnivorism. A bar and party are also planned.
- There are rooms, studios, places for tents or vans as well as bunks in a dormitory (limited places)
- An open-air space with lake and forest for the greatest pleasure of those who appreciate nature.
