Thus, in the French-speaking African space, the "Dakar Bitcoin Days" want to become an essential event to bring together the continent's bitcoiners. Whether public or private actors, academics, entrepreneurs, developers or simply the curious, the "Dakar Bitcoin Days" is also an opportunity to expand the ecosystem bitcoin in Senegal and in Africa.
Thus, the second edition will take place for two days, from December 01 to 02, 2023, in Dakar, therefore.
Themes covered for the 2023 edition
For the second edition of the event, the organizing team – Bitcoin Senegal – has decided to focus more on the potential of bitcoin for Senegalese businesses. Issues related to e-commerce, international trade and the export of African products will then be at the heart of the conference of the second edition.
However, the topics covered in the second edition will also concern other themes such as the philosophical principles of Bitcoin. Participants will then be able to better "understand Bitcoin in the context of the emergence of the internet in the 80s and the financial crisis of the 2000s". The concepts of financial autonomy and monetary sovereignty will also be topics presented during the multiple conferences.
Participants will also be able to understand how the Bitcoin peer-to-peer network works. Experts will come and explain how bitcoin transactions work for people who want to learn how to use bitcoin in everyday life.
Dakar Bitcoin Day guests and speakers
For this second edition, many guests will be present to participate in panels, moderate them, organize workshops or present conferences. Many personalities who advance the cause of Bitcoin in Africa will be present. The languages spoken during the conference, which aims to be international, will be French, English and Wolof.
